Welcome! I’m Sue Windels, candidate for Jefferson County Commissioner.

I’m ready for “round 3”!! I’ve served in the Colorado House (round #1) and I’ve served in the Colorado Senate (round #2) and now I’m ready to serve as a Jefferson County Commissioner.

I’m Sue Windels, Jeffco resident for 30 years. The knowledge and experience I’ve gained as a state legislator over the last 10 years will clearly help me be an effective voice and leader for our county.

I am proud of my accomplishments in the legislature and I am excited about having the opportunity to continue my work on issues such as renewable energy, open space, healthcare and transportation.

I have always found the best government is one that is open, transparent and inclusive. My style of leadership is one where I bring all stakeholders to the table, working to assure that every point of view is heard, understood and respected. The biggest challenge is finding the consensus position. I have the patience and determination to get that done.

Unfortunately, the reputation of our county government has suffered greatly over the past few years with various tabloid scandals. It’s time to recapture our county’s standing as open, honest good government. There are two commissioner seats up for election this November which means we have a clear opportunity for positive change.

I ask for your vote in November to serve as a County Commissioner. My roots are here in Jeffco. My heart is here in Jeffco. I’m ready to serve my county. I’m ready for “round 3”!
